Meet the Horses

We love our horses, and strongly believe in treating each and everyone of them as an individual. We think it’s really important that they retain all the little quirks and mannerisms that make them unique, and we encourage all of our customers to work in harmony with these different characters to achieve the best for both horse and rider (it’s why we purposely haven’t included descriptions of our horses because we want you to find out about these personalities for yourselves!).

We like all our horses to live out in a big herd with lots of grazing and room to run around!

Whilst we have a large number of stables and a lovely barn for the horses to come into during the day, we like to give the horses as much time out as possible, and love the fact that they can all interact as one large herd – eating, playing and more eating – living together as horses should. We believe this way of living creates a happier, healthier horse, and we wouldn’t want it any other way. Check out the video below for another example of our horses enjoying some free time in their field (and don’t worry, they use up their excess energy out here to come in and be more than sensible for you on lessons!)

All our horses are kept for life.

At THRS, our horses are valued more than words can do justice, and whether working or retired, every horse is kept for life in gratitude of their hard work and loving nature. We have a dedicated space on our Facebook page to remember those horses who are no longer with us, but will always have a place in our hearts. We encourage you to check it out to see past photos and people’s comments, as a testament to just how loved these horses are.
